The Garner PD-5SSD combines an electrically driven PD-5 hard drive crusher with the SSD-1 solid-state attachment for controlled media-retirement workflows.
Configuration and use
The PD-5 uses more than 10 tons of force to bend and damage hard drives. Its electric drive avoids hydraulic-fluid handling, and the front chamber lets operators inspect the physical result.
The equipment monitors crush depth and displays cycle and diagnostic information. The manufacturer specifies an approximately 20-second destruction cycle. Actual job throughput depends on drive size, loading and documentation.
The included SSD-1 attachment uses 90 spikes to pierce and perforate supported solid-state media. It is an attachment to the PD-5, not a separate powered shredder.
