DESCRIPTION

Caliber Armor PRO and ULTRA Ballistic Shields

Compare Caliber Armor PRO Series IIIA/HG2 handgun-threat and ULTRA Series RF2 rifle-threat handheld shields for authorized law-enforcement, first-response and institutional security procurement. This Caliber-specific collection complements our broader ballistic shields for law enforcement and government category; it is not a duplicate general-purpose shield catalog.

PRO Series covers compact patrol, rapid-response, mini and larger shield options with fixed, streamlined or pivot-handle configurations. ULTRA Series adds manufacturer-described RF2 rifle-threat configurations. Select by the agency's written threat specification and the exact model, not just the series name. Caliber describes ballistic laboratory testing of specified shields, but this should not be represented as NIJ certification of ballistic shields.

Compare by application and handle

  • Patrol vehicles and compact deployment: review the PRO or ULTRA Patrol and 12×18-in. Mini options; compare size, total configured weight and storage needs.
  • Preparedness and stationary staging: review 18×20-in. Rapid Response models; verify dual-grab handles and storage arrangements for the selected part number.
  • Tactical handheld coverage: compare larger 15×25, 16×30 and PRO 20×30-in. family options. Select pivot versus fixed handles based on user requirements.
  • Accessories: the Caliber weapon support bracket is a separate component; compatibility and inclusion must be confirmed on the quote.

Frequently asked agency purchasing questions

Which family is appropriate for rifle threats? Evaluate the ULTRA RF2 models against the exact rounds, velocities and current laboratory test documentation required by the agency. Do not substitute handgun-only PRO HG2/IIIA models for a rifle-threat requirement.

Is a shield with an NIJ rating officially NIJ-certified? A manufacturer’s ballistic test claim does not mean it is listed on NIJ’s torso-worn body-armor compliance list. Request the current model-specific full-shield test report and check its scope, including handles and fasteners.

What information is needed for a department or school-district quote? Provide exact manufacturer SKU, threat criteria, size, handle, quantity, required markings, supporting test/compliance documentation, shipping destination and delivery deadline. Government schedule/contract availability must be verified for the specific item.

Can familiarization or facility training be included? Training can be scoped separately when appropriate through California Tactical Academy or a qualified manufacturer/instructor; it is not included unless specified in the quote.
