The S6 is specifically designed for Skiing applications and features an Altimeter, Barometer, Thermometer, Compass, Watch, Clinometer and PC Downloading. The Suunto S6 calculates speed based on the altimeter and clinometer.
The altimeter and the clinometer work together and count the exact speed of the user on a vertical performance. The skichrono enables spontaneous races between skiers as well as systematic training. The logbook counts your runs, and tells their cumulated vertical distance. It also records a detailed altitude profile, which adds a totally new dimension to your after-ski discussions.
Once your data is downloaded, you can review it with the included software, and upload it to SuuntoSports.com, where you can interact with fellow enthusiasts and organize / participate in virtual competitions (in other words: it took me 6 days to climb Everest, how long did it take you?). You can thereby compare your altitude, speed and other results with other users.
